Privacy Policy
This is an unreviewed draft. It describes what the website actually does, checked against the code. Anything marked [to confirm] depends on business facts we do not hold, and nothing here has been reviewed by a lawyer. It should not be treated as legal advice or as a statement that the site is compliant.
Who this covers
Meridian Market is a trading name. The company legally responsible for this site and for any personal information it handles is [to confirm], established in [to confirm], at [to confirm].
You can reach us about anything on this page at hello@meridianmarket.com.
What this website collects
This site has no contact form, no login and no newsletter signup. Browsing the pages does not create an account or a record with us.
We checked this in the code: loading any page sets no cookies and writes nothing to your browser's storage. The only information that reaches us from an ordinary visit is whatever our hosting provider records in its standard server logs, which typically means your IP address, browser type, the page requested and a timestamp. Our host is [to confirm] and their log retention is [to confirm].
Two things do involve your information, and both start with an action you take.
If you email us
Writing to us sends whatever you put in that email - your name, address, and anything you choose to tell us about your property. We use it to reply and, if it goes further, to discuss working together. Our email is hosted by [to confirm] and we keep enquiry correspondence for [to confirm].
If you book a call
The booking buttons open a Calendly scheduling window. Calendly asks for your name, email and whatever other questions are configured on the event, and it handles that booking on our behalf.
Calendly only loads after you click a booking button. Hovering over one, or simply reading the page, does not contact them. Once it loads, Calendly sets cookies on its own domain - see the Cookie Policy for what those are.
Calendly is a US company. Whether we have a data processing agreement and standard contractual clauses in place with them is [to confirm]. Their own privacy notice governs what they do with booking data as their own controller.
Other services this site contacts
Loading a page makes requests to two third parties. Neither sets a cookie, but both can see your IP address because your browser connects to them directly:
Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com) serves the typefaces. Cloudflare cdnjs (cdnjs.cloudflare.com) serves two JavaScript libraries used for page animation.
Both could be removed by hosting the fonts and libraries on our own domain. That is a decision for the site owner rather than a statement of current practice.
Why we are allowed to do this
The legal bases that apply depend on where the responsible company is established, which is [to confirm]. Our draft position, subject to confirmation: replying to enquiries and arranging calls is necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract; keeping server logs for security and reliability rests on our legitimate interests.
We do not run advertising, profiling or analytics on this site, so we are not relying on consent for any of that.
Who else sees your information
Our hosting provider, our email provider and Calendly, in each case only to the extent needed to run the service. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising. Whether any other processor is involved - a CRM, for instance - is [to confirm].
How long we keep it
Retention periods are [to confirm]. We have deliberately not written a number here, because stating one we do not actually apply would be worse than leaving it open.
Information leaving your country
Calendly and both content delivery networks are US-based, so information about your visit or your booking will reach the United States. The safeguards relied on for those transfers are [to confirm].
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may be able to ask for a copy of what we hold, have it corrected or deleted, object to or restrict how we use it, or ask for it in a portable format. Write to us and we will deal with it.
You can also complain to a data protection authority. Which one depends on where you are and where we are established - see [to confirm].
Changes
If this page changes materially we will update the date at the top. This version is a draft and has not been through legal review.
